The Moves Collective have proven to turn heads all over the country with their Funk-Grass music, having shared the stage with greats like Leftover Salmon, Hot Buttered Rum, Fruition, Midnight North, The Dustbowl Revival and Joe Marcinek. 2017 has been one busy year for TMC: recipients of 'Best Americana' in the San Diego Music Awards, joining booking forces with the impressive roster of Ever Upward Entertainment out of Colorado, and most recently teaming up with Zach McNabb at Zali Presents (TAUK, Consider the Source). A third record is underway, to be released in 2018. “At our core, we have a mission to 'Move in the Moment' through improvisation, sharing our unique songs, experiences and stories with audiences across the globe. Our intent lies in finding connection with others through the beautiful language of music.” - T. Norton * * * * * 'Two Miles High' is the 2016 release from The Moves Collective, produced by Grammy Award Winner, Alan Sanderson at Pacific Beat Studios in San Diego, California . Having worked with groups like The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Rusted Root and Elton John, Sanderson's contribution in recording this eclectic band yielded a powerful yet rootsy sound that meshed wonderfully, with the tight, crisp and hard hitting production at Pacific Beat Studios. 'Two Miles High' along with TMC's first full length album, 'Yonder Blue' is available for digital download here. You can also find both releases on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, Google Play and more! “…The Moves Collective fit squarely into the Jam-grass mold, six musicians from varying backgrounds who seem to have one thing in common: an ability to blend together, playing offbeat songs with flashes of virtuoso instrumental talent and tight harmonies, built on swing jazz and hill music chassis, often full of surprises.” -SD Troubadour

Born in the traditional, if traditionally obscure fashion, Misdirection front man Brent Curtis’ musical interests, and talents, have progressed well beyond blowing out amps in the family garage. Following a representative rock-star path, Brent’s initial foray was a punk project influenced by Blink 182, Green Day and many of the high-energy, extreme-volume bands of the day. Brent conveys his love for the craft in every story he weaves, nurtures and delivers. Clever lyrics and song titles augment a wealth of pure talent and genuine understanding of and appreciation for music. Brent maintains the same passion that drove him to pick up his first guitar, if he is perhaps a bit less compelled to smash it into kindling.

Acoustic blues, roots of rock, folk, classic country and original material. My song "Roof of Hell" was awarded second place in the San Diego Songwriters Guild "Performing Songwriter Competition". It's inspired by the 200+ year old haiku by Kobayashi Issa : “In this world we walk on the roof of hell gazing at flowers” I have many years of experience performing live and enjoy interacting with audiences but I also know when not to.
