TJ's voice is like Stevie Nicks mixed with the vocal presence of Jennifer Nettles and the belting range of Adele. She jokes that if Adele had a twang, they'd sound like sisters. But TJ Carter is nothing less than her own original self.

Having grown up listening to the pop diva's Celine Dion and Whitney Houston, TJ began to belt and emulate her favorite singers at an early age. Every Sunday she practiced harmony singing in church, learning how to pick a harmony part along side her Father, a natural singer himself. Her mother, who birthed three precocious and independent girls, noticed her children's entertaining talents at an early age and signed all her girls up for dance class. From then on song and dance became the Carter girls' m.o. in life.

​Like many singer/songwriters, TJ moved to Nashville Tennessee in 2011. Fueled by hopes and dreams of becoming a full time musician/artist, TJ joined as many songwriting and recording industry groups as she could to find friends with similar aspirations. During this time she penned the 10 songs she independently recorded for her first musical release, her album Bold and Beautiful in 2015. Meanwhile, a few minor independent projects gave rise to her vocals like her karaoke demo's in the style of Kelly Clarkson, Christina Perri and Colbie Caillat that were picked up by NBC's The Voice official karaoke app and the theme song Body Pop for the release of Cassey Ho's Blogilates clothing line, an international youtube channel with over four million subscribers.

Although Nashville's music scene stole her heart, TJ left the music city to perform as a solo entertainer aboard a cruise-liner along side her sister who is a very talented dancer (featured in her music video of 2016 for You Don't Know Me). Having no previous experience with guitar, TJ secretly learned how to accompany herself with the popular Nashville instrument switching between the guitar and piano to keep her guests entertained, all the while falling in love with the endless creativity of putting her own spin on popular acoustic cover songs and arranging new vocal melodies with guitar.

​Upon her return to Nashville in late fall 2016, it was announced that Canadian artist Jason Kirkness would cut her song, A Man Like Me, her very first cut outside her own album. The song was released under 644614 Records in 2017 and brought the audience to a stand-still during Kirkness' first live performance of the tune in Manitoba, Canada.

As for this year, TJ continues her love for singing and songwriting, avidly entertaining honky tonk spectators visiting country music's capitol of the world and performing with her band. She is also songwriting and performing in writers rounds while working on a new single set to release in early 2019.
