Derty was mostly influenced by the legendary Muddy Waters. Derty was so inspired by Muddy that he decided to embrace the last part of his name "Waters" but with a "Z." I guess he was thinking about the old saying still waters run deep. Derty was amazed at how wonderfully this man song from his heart and told of his life experiences. He was inspired when the Blues Legend Muddy Waters sung about love and pain.
