Sweet Soubrette

Sweet Soubrette's edgy love songs explore topics that include bad women, works of literature, and the mysteries of existence. Based in Brooklyn, NY since 2008, the ukulele-powered indie rock band has gained a reputation for poetic lyrics, lush arrangements, and a dark, cabaret-inspired sensibility, featuring the vocals and ukulele of Ellia Bisker (a multiple ASCAP Plus Award winner for her songwriting) with as many as 7 other band members (on bass, drums, strings, horns, and keys). Sweet Soubrette's most recent album, Burning City, earned critical praise in the U.S. and overseas, inspiring comparisons to Regina Spektor and Amanda Palmer. Their 4th album will be released later this year.
