Skout is Laura Valk and Connor Gladney, a Brooklyn-based acoustic duo that plays indie-folk with restless edge.

The urgency and intricacy of Skout's fingerstyle guitars, paired with delicate harmonies, caught the attention of international platinum musician Eric Hutchinson, who came on board in 2016 to produce the band’s EP, Just Words, before bringing the duo out on his fall headlining tour that same year. The EP’s title track peaked at #8 on Spotify’s USA Viral 50 chart in early 2017 and the song Old Friend was featured on MTV's Catfish.

Whether playing your Mom’s living room or the House of Blues, it’s the duo’s onstage chemistry, nonstop smiling, and the band’s “awkwardly endearing” banter/puns that draw dedicated fans to the band.
