Shay Lyrical was born Deshara Edwards in Richmond, Indiana and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. She started singing at a very young age with her dad. Her father was a major influence in her life.

Shay’s father was a producer, writer, rapper, singer and the founder of a gospel group.

Her father’s gifts were instilled in her as he rest in peace she uses her love for music and life situations to chase her dreams.
