If you're looking for a folk rock singer with strong vocals and a few tricks up her sleeve, I'm your girl. I grew up in Montana, where I taught myself guitar by working through a pile of sheet music my mother had for artists like Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and Bob Dylan. I still love playing 70s folk standards, but have added quite a few other artists to my repertoire, ranging from Macy Gray and Jewel to Imagine Dragons, The Velvet Underground and Radiohead. If you want covers, I can fill three hours. But I get a bigger kick out of mixing it up with my originals, which fall generally in the indie folk genre. I like to keep things interesting by working my looper into sets. It's a simple pedal that allows me to stack vocal harmonies on a few songs, or even layer in some percussion.
