Paul Montoya was first introduced to The Beatles in the womb through bulky 80's style headphones around his mother's belly. His love of poetry and the written word comes from his father, who would read him stories like The Time Machine, King Arthur and Tom Sawyer every night. His rhythm comes from his mother, a former cheerleader and aerobics teacher who would dance around the vacuum cleaner singing her own made up verses to popular songs.
Paul grew up a picky vegetarian in Lubbock, Texas where steak is the almighty king. While his eating habits drove his parents crazy, (deciding what to cook) they're indicative of the unique sensitivity he brings to all his music. Most of Paul's family speaks fluent Spanish. After countless failed attempts, (including three years of college courses) Paul came to conclusion that he was completely unable to learn the language and reserved himself to sitting quietly at the thanksgiving table wondering if his aunts were talking about him. ...
