Makar is a unique poet pop folk punk blues indie rock band that has 41 original slow, mid-tempo and fast songs perfect for any occasion. We have heartfelt, danceable, fun songs that make poet and punk rejoice and dance together and think differently then when they came into the venue. We’ve played all over the city at clubs big and small (CBGBs, Pianos, Knitting Factory, Luna Lounge, Freddys Backroom, Galapagos) and never left without everyone loving our show. Even the sound guys say “pure talent” and they “loved it.” Our lyrics touch on a variety of topics from love to social issues and everything in-between.
