Jj Thames & The Violet Revolt is a 5 piece (lead vocals, keys, drums, bass, and guitar) national and international touring band signed to DeChamp/Malaco Records. They are a high energy mix of blues rock, traditional juke joint blues, funk, and vintage soul/R&B (think Ike and Tina Turner mixed with Alabama Shakes, Govt Mule, Gary Clark Jr., and the Black Keys.) Their show is 70 percent original music, and 30 percent covers. They currently have two 90-minute shows prepared.

The Violet Revolt is comprised of one woman and three men (Justine Gardner (Bass-Tampa Florida), Mikey Rodreguez (Guitar-New York City), John Blackmon (Drums-Atlanta, Georgia) and Phil Silverberg (B3/Keys-East Hanover, New Jersey)). Underneath the deeply southern juke joint stylings, and waves of gospel pulsing through the group of diverse almost 30 somethings - there is a mixture of elemental hip-hop, energetic 90's and southern rock and blues guitar licks, groovin' vintage soul melodies, and a peek-a-boo of roots reggae woven throughout the foundation which diversifies JJ and the Violet Revolt in a way that is unexpected and pleasantly explosive to the musical palate.
