Greetings to you all! We are Hans and Janine an acoustic duo from San Clemente, CA. You might describe our style as funky folk. We play a blend of classic songs and styles pulled from the r&b, folk rock, and reggae genres, and our original material is always well received. Our sound has been referred to as "soothing." Vocal harmonies are what most people enjoy about us, while we take turns singing lead we always accompany each other vocally. Janine plays a drum known as a 'cajon.' Hans plays acoustic guitar. We usually play in lower volume venues such as restaurants, wine bars, and various private events, so we have honed our skills at providing entertainment while guests can still have conversation. Cocktail hour at weddings, fundraisers, etc. is a usual booking for us. We have been playing together steadily for the past five years and separately for most of our lives. Janine in fact has been raised in a musical family, much like the Jackson 5, playing together since their youth. At one time Janine was signed to a recording contract with Warner Bros with her brother Jara and their band 'slapbak.' Through their love for life and music Hans and Janine create a very warm and pleasant atmosphere, and on many occasions customers have said they came back because they knew we were playing and had really enjoyed it last time.
