A range of favorites sung in a velvety, clear voice with guitar and lap dulcimer. Can focus on one genre, such as Celtic or maritime, or do a variety of folk music, including original songs, plus pop, blues, and standards from the American Songbook (Summertime, Autumn Leaves, etc.). Can entertain all ages; sing-alongs a specialty. Ideal for weddings, both for the ceremony and at cocktail hour.
Diane also presents programs combining music and history, looking at various eras through the music enjoyed at the time. She performs in period clothing and plays instruments of the day. Eras include Colonial America, the Revolutionary War, and the Civil War.
For the holidays, Diane can do a program of secular carols, or "A Victorian Christmas" in which she explores the roots of the familiar songs we sing each December. For example, "Jingle Bells" originally had a much more athletic melody that the one we use today!
