David Ballard

Heya! My name is David Ballard. I am a musician and music student living in Lynnwood Washington. My primary instrument is piano and keyboards, although I also play brass and percussion instruments. I love to play jazz, and currently am the pianist for the EDCC Jazz and Salsa Band as well as the leader of the EDCC Collective combo, a pool of musicians interested in creating cross genre Latin jazz music. I also sing and rap, and am working to create a genre of music that has the spirituality of reggae, the cultural relevance of hip-hop before the commercialization of rap, and the level of discipline and musicianship of jazz.

In the meantime I and my collective are available for gigs ranging from solo to big band, playing straight ahead jazz, salsa, reggae, bossa, or (given some warning) whatever you would like us to.
