Dad's Typewriter began in 2009 as The Supposed So, the recording project and stage name of Michael McGuire. Once compulsively prolific in his writing and recorded output - there are upwards of 30 Supposed So releases available on Bandcamp - Michael landed in New York City at the beginning of 2017 to begin a new chapter of life with his partner and collaborator, Alexandra Tsubota, and Dad's Typewriter was formed. They released their debut LP, Carousel, in September, and followed with a non-album single by the end of that month.
Thoughtful lyrics, coupled with inventive melodies and deceptively intricate instrumentation, create songs full of soul.
