Darrell Council born December 30, 1986 better known by his stage name "Q" is an American rapper from Augusta, Georgia. Q's style is described as universal, refined southern music. Q is gifted with the ability to grasp the attention of his listeners. ".Q began writing raps at the age of 12 and poetry at 16. “I can remember listening to Tupac’s album Me Against The World and my mama saying that he was her favorite rapper, although I always had a passion for music at that moment she had inspired me to rap.” Writing raps had become a newfound hobby for the mc and the hobby quickly grew into a passion for Q. In sixth grade Q was in a group called Avalanche consisting of 3 other rappers who shared the same dream, to make it in the music industry. The following year Q was transferred to a different school which caused the group to part ways. Q continued to from a group at his new school called Hardheadz with 2 other artists, his cousin Duece B and friend Lil Nard. The trio shared the same determination in which Q’s grandfather noticed and purchased him a keyboard and karaoke machine. Ready and willing he began producing his own beats and went on to produce Hardheadz first self-titled mix tape. The mix tapes created a buzz within the school system and in 2004 Hardheadz were granted a distribution deal from Universal. However management didn’t agree with the terms and turned the deal down. Back to the studio, performing, and selling CDs.
In 2005 Q continued to push for success while falling victim to the streets, “Studio time, getting cds made, just had a little girl, and it seemed like I just never had enough money.” Q resulted back to the streets for financial freedom and in 2007 he was brought up on charges that landed him in prison for 3 years. Not letting his incarceration deter him away from music and his dream of becoming a rapper, “nightmares are every once in a while, but dreams are forever…like diamonds” while incarcerated Q had the chance to get in tune with writing abilities he possesses and wrote more music, poetry, and a film. In June of 2010 Q was released from prison and immediately hit the studio to work on his craft and Build his catalog.Since then until now his been touring and featuring with other artist.
