Bri Murphy

Nashville

"Flawless, soulful voice" (PennLive)... "Folksy, Americana sound...raw voice...mindful of every note and riff" (The Spectator). "A promising young songstress" (PledgeMusic).

Americana/folk artist Bri Murphy is originally from northwestern Wisconsin. She began violin when she was 4 years old, picking up the piano, guitar, and mandolin on her way to Nashville, TN. After getting of the road as a sidewoman, she recorded a solo EP in 2016. The title track from her EP, "Throw Down My Heart," was chosen as a semifinalist in the 2016 International Songwriter Competition.

Since "Throw Down My Heart," Bri has recorded a full-length record, taking the role of co-producer alongside Evan Middlesworth (sound engineer, The National). The record has a focused, acoustic sound, featuring her fiddle playing, as well as Ben Lester (S. Carey) on pedal steel, Dave Power (The Staves) on drums, Robbie Weisshaar on bass, and her dad on keys. "Things We'd Rather Not Say" is set for release in 2018.
