Celebrated for his warm romantic tone, soaring lyricism and masterful technique, Dmitri Matheny has been hailed as "the first breakthrough flugelhornist since Chuck Mangione" (San Jose Mercury News), with an unforgettable sound "so cool it'll run a shiver through your martini" (Los Angeles Times). Dmitri Matheny has performed with jazz luminaries Larry Coryell, Nathan Davis, Amina Figarova, Darrell Grant, Larry Grenadier, John Handy, Red Holloway, Denise Jannah, James Moody, Tony Reedus, Max Roach, Sam Rivers, Bud Shank, Billy Taylor and Bobby Watson. A prolific recording artist, he has appeared on dozens of albums as a composer, arranger, producer and featured soloist, and has released eight recordings as a leader: Red Reflections (1995), Penumbra (1996), Starlight Café (1998), Santa's Got a Brand New Bag (2000), Nocturne (2005), The SnowCat (2006), Spiritu Sancto (2007) and Best of Dmitri Matheny (2008). Born in Nashville, Tennessee, and raised in Georgia and Arizona, Dmitri Matheny was first introduced to jazz audiences in the 1980s as the protégé of flugelhorn legend Art Farmer. Although he is an honors graduate of Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music and Michigan's Interlochen Arts Academy, it is Farmer—and the ten years of private tutelage and mentoring he received from the late jazz master—that Matheny acknowledges as his true education in jazz. While still a college student, Matheny earned a reputation in Boston as a creative and reliable session musician. He performed frequently with the True Colors Big Band (co-led by Rob Scheps and Ken Schaphorst), with his own New Voice Jazz Sextet, and with various professional mariachi and salsa bands, pit orchestras, and with touring pop and Motown acts such as the Temptations, Martha Reeves, Fabian, Bobby Rydell and Frankie Avalon. In 1989, Matheny graduated magna cum laude from Berklee, and relocated to San Francisco. Matheny began touring internationally in the 1990s. He has traveled to 17 countries, has performed for festival and concert audiences around the globe, and has garnered a legion of fans along the way. Among the honors he has received: Matheny was named "Best New Artist" in the JazzIz International Readers Poll and "Talent Deserving of Wider Recognition" in the Down Beat International Critics Poll. Although best known as a flugelhorn player, Dmitri Matheny is also a "skilled composer who can take listeners on a journey and keep them engaged with his embroidery" (Palm Springs Desert Sun). His published compostions span the jazz, popular, symphonic, choral, chamber and world music genres. Matheny's most ambitious creation to date is Spiritu Sancto (the "New Millennium Mass"), a monumental sacred work scored for chorus, organ, percussion, brass quintet, jazz ensemble and gospel soloist. Commissioned by Ted W. Hall for St. Dominic's Church in San Francisco, the composition received its world premiere at midnight on the dawn of the new millennium. Matheny has received premieres and commissions from Meet the Composer, the Manhattan New Music Project, the American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers, the Bay Area Jazz Composers Orchestra and 20th Century Forum. His film scoring and soundtrack credits include the PBS documentary Mary, Paradox & Grace (1996), the industrial short film Greenhorn Creek (1997), the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art production Voices & Images of California Art (1997), the RKO Pictures feature film Shade (2003), and the Cannes Film Festival premiere of "Stanley's Girlfriend," a short film from the horror anthology, Trapped Ashes (2006). A dedicated arts advocate, published writer, and sought-after public speaker, Dmitri Matheny is passionate about music education. He has held teaching faculty and arts management positions with the Jazzschool (Berkeley, CA), Boston Center for the Arts, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and Monarch Records. He has served as Director of Education for SFJAZZ: the San Francisco Jazz Organization, as Assistant Education Director for the Thelonious Monk Institute Jazz Colony at Jazz Aspen Snowmass, and as Artist-In-Residence for the Young Musicians Program of the University of California, Berkeley.

According to The Boston Herald, Seattle songwriter Kym Tuvim "is a rarity in modern folk-pop: a...singer-songwriter truly in touch with the roots of American music." The daughter of a pianist and granddaughter of a big band leader, it's safe to say that music was like breathing in Tuvim's childhood home. Growing up in central, suburban California, she was playing piano, guitar and writing songs at an early age. When it came time to go to college, she chose Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, where she studied Jazz piano and composition. She's been based in the Northwest ever since. Touring part-time since 2003, Tuvim has cultivated a national following playing in listening rooms, living rooms, and festivals across the country. She has three albums to her name, all of which have been critically praised by fans and critics alike, including Acoustic Guitar and The Performing Songwriter Magazines. Her seasoned guitar work borrows from folk, pop, jazz and blues, seamlessly blending genres with an intricate and deep groove, while her songwriting delivers lyrics that are truthful, smart and emotionally vulnerable. Of Tuvim's live show, About.com said, "Seattle singer-songwriter Kym Tuvim can sing...A remarkable performer, she didn't bounce all over the place or boogie behind her guitar, and she didn't need to. Her songs were thoughtful, provocative, and relatable. Her voice was solid, strong, and soaking with soul." Tuvim has shared the stage with Susan Werner, Girlyman & Kris Delmhorst, among others, and in 2005, she was voted back for the 2006 'Most Wanted Tour' by the audience at The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, one of the largest folk festivals in the U.S., held every summer in the Berkshires in New York State.

Pretty Enemy is an exciting, dynamic rock quintet out of the Pacific Northwest. Their polished, yet passionate take on rock music lends well to their individual influences, and their shared vision of what great music is. The members of Pretty Enemy; Lizzy Daymont (Bass), Pete Johnston (Drums), Lane Patterson (Guitar), Stephanie Smith (Guitar, Vox), Chris Forry (Guitar, Vox) have shared countless stages over the past 6 years, developing a fluidity onstage that makes you almost forget you are seeing a local, unsigned act. Just as comfortable playing a full on, no holds barred rock show as they are performing in an intimate acoustic setting, Pretty Enemy delivers.

The Storm Chronicles are an adult album alternative and progressive rock music project. The duo was established on the vision of David Burr, who founded and developed the project as the primary vehicle for delivering his music/lyrics. Burr selected the songs for the debut album from the substantial backlog of material and demos he had developed over the course of almost 20 years. After recruiting vocalist Jody Dietz in 2011, the duo spent the next two years recording the album. The end result was "Looking Backward", released in September 2013 after a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. The music and lyrics were composed by Burr, with additional writing contributions by Dietz. The album was produced, recorded and mixed by Burr.

Established in 2013, The Kings Seattle emerged from the underground with hard hitting force, blending traditional brass ska with raw punk, soul and rock 'n' roll.

The Hasslers, local Missoula Americana/ Alt-Country troubadours, have been spending the last year in the Pacific Northwest, getting their feet wet in the big city music scene, playing venues weekly in Seattle and Portland, and most importantly, recording their full-length album, State Center. This new 12 song LP documents their move, both musically and lyrically, through homesick blues songs, lovelorn country songs, and a new turn into roots-rock with horn arrangements, funky guitar licks, and wailing organ riffs. As winners of the emerging artist contest, they played the main stage at Red Ants Pants Music Festival last year, and will taking their show on the road in Summer '16. Recently they've been seen playing alongside acts such as Blitzen Trapper, the Cave Singers, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, the Gypsy Lumberjacks, the Black Lillies, the Heartless Bastards, and many more!

Fractured, nocturnal eloquence, and brooding guitar harmonies define this Seattle-based, post-rock quintet. Layering in dynamic rhythms, complex time signatures, and passionate melodies, These People Here create an atmosphere both haunting and hopeful. Guitarists Rebecca Gutterman and Rian Turner initially bonded in late 2014, after discovering a mutual love for post-hardcore legends Rodan and intricate, interwoven guitar riffs. Aileen Paron, who played with Gutterman in the all-female Radiohead tribute band Pablo Honeys (voted Seattle Weekly’s “Best of Seattle: Cover Band” in 2014), brings her dreamy vocals, electronics, and heartbreaking poetics to the fold. Jen Fox’s bass and Thomas Edwards’ percussion provide intensity and interplay to punctuate a sprawling sonic landscape that will not disappoint.

Guest Directors started as a casual side project between members of current Seattle bands The Navins, Mutiny Mutiny and These People Here. As collaborations turned into songs, long-time guitarists stepped up to singing roles and a sound started developing. Elements of post-shoegaze rock, dream pop, power pop, and noise all make an appearance, but the songs don’t fit easily in a specific genre. Sounds like: raindrops beating up evergreens. For fans of: spooky soulful music, guitar interplay, female vocals, effects pedals, fireflies, alien blips and elliptical distortion fog.

Formed in 2015, pacific echoes is an upbeat indie rock quartet blending many elements of rock and layered vocals to give a complete sound. Debut self titled EP released in May 2015.
