Haunebu II is Thomas Sparks main band and so who is Thomas Sparks? Well, these days I am a 45 year old singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist who has been singing since before I can remember. I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and while growing up there I was singing solos in my church at a young age, as well as participating in talent shows throughout my school years. An American classic series of events led me to the Great Northwest in 1989. In particular, the North Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. It's here, (Well, I already knew I could sing ), that I picked up an acoustic guitar and started honing my skills to a competitive level. In 2008 I was able to compile a lot of my past broken tracks, and takes cobbled together, and with a few of my newer song ideas put it together on my first Compact Disc called Lost Takes. We are a grunge/rock trio from Renton, WA. We represent Seattle Sound and all the Pacific North West Community. Although we consider ourselves as a groovy rock band, we incorporate all the styles of music: blues, punk-rock, metal, acoustic, swing, folk. We just recently played gigs at the Columbia City Theater, Highline and JP Williams Pub. We have all the gear including PA. Aside from playing (1) electric which we love the most, we also have an (2) acoustic set-up: acoustic guitars and cajón; and a (3) cocktail-jazz set-up where we use snare, ride, brushes, acoustic guitar and an upright bass. Electric stories to tell. We are a power trio, peforming original material influenced by; rock, jazz, funk, folk, blues, and pop. This combination puts us in the indie category because the songs are eclectic in mood and style, defying easy categorization. As individuals we have performed on local festival and club stages, along with appearances internationally, solo, and in collaborations with other musicians. I had been a professional hotel musician for 15 years. I studied music composition and I am a Classical trained pianist. I play light Classical, Oldies, Pop, Rock and Latin music. My music is easy listening and melodic. I also sing Golden Oldies (Andy Williams, Beatles, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, Engelbert Humperdinck, Paul Anka, etc. ). I can not only play as a soloist but also play with other musicians in band or group. I have wonderful arranger keyboards and sound system, so I can play all kind of events as a soloist or in a band. I am good at playing melodic music and singing mellow songs as background music for events, dinners and play beautiful music for ballroom dance (International Sport Dance, such as cha cha, rumba, samba, tango, foxtrot, paso double, swing, waltz...etc.). I am very comfortable providing background music to formal affairs and have an array of covers to select from. I can also provide over an hour of original music as well. My style is definitely more folky than rock. In the past, I've done very well in winery/restaurant settings, as well as house parties or private events. I also really enjoy playing festivals and fairs.

[::] Bio from a local zine [::] Crystal Desert is an alternative garage rock trio whose elaborate songwriting and caustic, vivacious performances ascend their familiar sounds into new artistic territory. Christian Smith’s hostile and distorted bass tone (think early Shellac post-punk) serves as a counterpoint to guitarist/vocalist Ryan Alexander’s 90’s britpop-esque sound which can be moody, kaleidoscopic and sometimes poppy. Paired with drummer Josh Ihler’s more bright and contemporary style, this trio embraces their complex profile through a more experimental songwriting process. Some songs such as their debut single “Trade Ambition” maintain a continuously energizing rock aesthetic carried out in movements. Other songs operate more like a brooding shoegaze jams or narrative fuzz rock constructions.
