Elaine Lucia is a life-long singer and professional performer. She has 3 nationally-released jazz CDs and has played thousands of shows in the San Francisco Bay Area as a jazz singer or band leader with her 6-piece band or as a quartet, trio, or duo.
Elaine has been writing songs and playing guitar all of her adult life, as well, but it wasn't until recently that, encouraged by her band, she decided to start performing her original music and performing as a singer-songwriter.
Elaine has quickly garnered a reputation as a writer of beautiful melodies and thoughtful lyrics:
"Their sophisticated chord changes and unusual melodies recall Joni Mitchell and Milton Nascimento, while the naked, yearning sincerity of her vocals seem to come from some rediscovered inner child. It’s a beguiling combination." --Gary Kamiya, Author of "Cool, Gray City of Love" and Elaine Lucia Fan
Elaine's unique chordal harmonies are informed by her love of Brazilian composers like Antonio Carlos Jobim, and, when combined with her finger-picking guitar style, result in a beautiful and unique sound. Elaine likes to call it "BossaAmericana." Listen to her song, "Milkweed" for an example.
Elaine draws and audience in with her mesmerizing voice, poignant delivery, and stories of Love, Hope, Memory and Laughter.
For a truly magical performance, one that creates an ambiance that works well in a fine dining establishment as well as a winery, café or intimate club, or house concert, contact Elaine Lucia.
