sick balloons began back in 2004 as a modest attempt at learning to play guitar-based music via bedroom, and also as a means of alternate expression from other musical meanderings. a lot of the earlier demos were made simply with sister's bass, sampler and 8track (digital, yes). various recordings were passed out amongst friends during this time. in early 2009 after a few years of musical dormancy new recordings began to develop, resulting in sharpened and matured standing amongst previous output. 2011 saw the release of the first official tape/digital release, "farewell to the swagger kids." shortly after that, begat live procurement fixturing, and the first incarnation of the band. 2013, balloons were seen with 'prague over brooklyn,' a revisit to imperfections and home-fi. 2014 found more experimentation and home recordings with a new record, 'north citrus helvetica.' after a few shifts and rearrangements, the current roster is aligned with the bravado of punk-informed anthems alongside pop songwriting and a ton of FUZZ. 'telescopes (on) parade,' our fourth, albeit first full fledged, full band record, is in progress, helmed by our good friend, Dave Matthies. thanks for being one of our [sic] friends.

Sandollar is a local San Diego band signed to the Pacific Records label that is charting strong at number 7 on the iTunes Reggae Charts. Sandollar is so diverse that it falls in a genre of its own- beach rock. Influenced by a variety of sounds and genres, their sound features reggae tones, splashes of southern rock, and encapsulates the all-around feel of So Cal living. The band was born from daily jam sessions in a high school woodshop class and evolved in 2006 into a 5-member band that tours all over. Del Rio is a high energy Country/ Southern rock dance band. Del Rio was formed in 1988, with the idea of playing music people enjoy and love dancing to. In 2002 Del Rio won best Traditional Country Band by the CCMA, also won Best Vocal Duo. We play music anywhere from Merle Haggard, Alan Jackson,Zac Brown,to name a few, to Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers,Marshall Tucker, Eagles, and Jimmy buffett. Big Bad Buffalo members Jordan Krimston (guitar, vox), Silvio Damone (bass) and Alex Staninger (drums) were still in high school when they released their debut self-titled three-song EP in 2012. This hard working band earned regular air play on FM94/9 and 91X's local shows and attained positive reviews when they released their full length album, American, in April of 2014. The band is known for their support of the local music scene, are regulars at DIY space The Ché Café and have been fortunate to be tapped to open for a remarkably long list of national touring acts including; Drive Like Jehu, Hot Snakes, Joan of Arc, Into It Over It, TWIBP, A Great Big Pile Of Leaves, New Politics, 21 Pilots, The Struts, Weatherbox and Caravels.

Birdy and the Bow Tie (duo) are inspired by early 20th century music. Particularly music that is considered to be early jazz from the 1920’s-40’s. With Alison Marae’s (a San Diego Music Award nominee 2014) cheery ukulele and Wil Forbis’ tasty lead guitar, the duo plays vintage acoustic jazz. Both crooners and scatters with their own individual style, the couple aims to bring vintage music to the ears and hearts of the young and the young at heart. Together since 2012, the two continue to build their vintage repertoire and are writing songs inspired by generations past. They have recently started hosting community based ukulele events, where people gather to strum and sing along to different songbooks that they’ve arranged and put together.
