Birdy and the Bow Tie
Birdy and the Bow Tie (duo) are inspired by early 20th century music. Particularly music that is considered to be early jazz from the 1920’s-40’s. With Alison Marae’s (a San Diego Music Award nominee 2014) cheery ukulele and Wil Forbis’ tasty lead guitar, the duo plays vintage acoustic jazz. Both crooners and scatters with their own individual style, the couple aims to bring vintage music to the ears and hearts of the young and the young at heart.
Together since 2012, the two continue to build their vintage repertoire and are writing songs inspired by generations past. They have recently started hosting community based ukulele events, where people gather to strum and sing along to different songbooks that they’ve arranged and put together.
Additional instrumentation (drums, bass, etc) is available upon request with additional fees.
