Sweethearts of Swing

The Sweethearts of Swing are an exciting trio of singers who have captured the unique style and harmonies of America’s most popular female singing group, The Andrews Sisters. They bring their familiar songs from the war time era right into the 21st Century in true USO style. Not only do they perform a cappella or with backing tracks, but they are often backed by their 6 piece band or their full 16 piece big band. The three ladies, Janet Hammer, Shelley Smith, and Kim Royster have been singing together for over 20 years.

Lady Star is a down home blues singin' woman who leaves a bit of herself on stage every time she performs. In the spirit of Koko Taylor, Etta James, and Tina Turner, this blues Diva delivers like few others can. Lady Star has shared the bill with such blues legends as B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Jimmie Vaughn & The Thunderbirds, Dr. John, Carey Bell, The Kingsley Report, Gate Mouth Brown, Eric Sardinas, Chris Cain and Debbie Davis. Lady Star has been a crowd favorite at the San Diego music festivals such as Adam Avenue street Fair, Street Scene, San Diego Arts Festival and The Superbowl Blues Festival.

Adé is an up and coming Hip-Hop artist from Burbank, CA. At 10 years old he knew music was his talent and outlet to release his creativity. Although considered a “Hip-Hop Artist” his music is always evolving. Adé draws artistic inspiration from Nirvana, Kanye West, Iron Maiden, Prince, and Future. Kat's Story Born in Tokyo and raised in New Zealand, Kat has always loved music. While drawing inspiration from artists like Foo Fighters and Jason Mraz, Kat's Ocean Pop sound is definitely her own. She mixes acoustic guitar-led melodies with emotionally transparent lyrics, delivered in a blend of Japanese and English. She returned to Japan after school and signed with Sony and Avex in 2007. Her partnership with them yielded several mini-albums, her first full album, and a limited vinyl edition of Nagoriyuki, which went to #1 on Japan's Vinyl Charts and sold out in two days. Outside of the studio, Kat has been recognized for her performances in high-profile TV ads. Additionally, she has also performed over 1000 live shows, both throughout Japan and internationally and has shared the stage with bands like Switchfoot and Colbie Caillat. Kat writes about humanity and life. Songs like "Dianna," inspired by a little girl who was born in a trash dump in Nicaragua, to "A little rain" which was written driving through a typhoon on tour in Japan, to "3.11" which was written as a way to deal with the wounds from the Tsunami which ravaged Japan in 2011. Since becoming an independent artist in 2010, Kat has continued to release new albums and tour Japan and the world. Kat changed her home base from Tokyo to LA in 2013 to face a completely new challenge, touring the US and expand her horizons, and 2014 saw the release of a brand new album "Rise Above" about overcoming life’s challenges. Kat's time in the US has kicked off to a promising start, Kat was selected as a top 5 finalist in the Guitar Center Singer-Songwriter competition out of 14,000 submissions in 2015 and was also selected as winner in Youtube's Next Up Class of 2016. After touring extensively for the past three years her focus for 2016 will be primarily on building her youtube channel and writing and recording new songs. When Kat’s not singing for a princess in Japan, girls in a safe house in Nicaragua, or at a college in Oregon, she’s in the studio recording, or baking cookies, or playing ukulele at the beach!

Record Year is a four-piece alternative rock band based in Los Angeles. Their manic sound ranges from fuzzy, heavy grandiosity to a more subdued melancholy, all tinged with poignant introspective lyrics. Influences include the likes of Manchester Orchestra, Modest Mouse, Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, Alabama Shakes, and Kanye West. We are a ten-piece horn band playing Soul/R&B/Funk dance covers from the 60's to today! Sam Cook, Al Green, Wilson Pickett, to James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Average White Band, and Tower of Power, just to name a few. We play private parties, some local bars, street fairs and corporate/fundraising events. Many years ago, the saying was, “It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing!” Our motto is, “It won’t make you move if it ain’t got the groove!”
