"US 99" is a trio which performs American Roots Music. Instrumentation includes: guitar/harmonica/vocals, electric guitar, and drums. We are a local band and perform regularly in the Los Angeles area. Our high energy performances generate audience interest and get our audiences on their feet. Gene's sound is a distinctive cocktail of east coast bluesy grit and dreamy west coast Americana. With songs that strike a balance between thoughtful storytelling and classic rock ferocity, his live shows pack an indelible punch no matter the size of his ensemble. He has shared the stage with the likes of Charlie Daniels Band, Little Big Town, Lee Brice, Hunter Hayes, Joe Nichols and many others. After relocating from Philadelphia to Los Angeles in 2011, Gene Micofsky’s musical ambitions have only continued to expand. Here he juggles a hefty plate of live performance, songwriting, film & TV composing, and record production. In support of his 2018 full-length debut, Amusia, Gene embarked on a large-scale tour that took him not only all over the United States, but all over Europe as well. In 2020, he co-founded the LA-based music production company Siren Sound with OkGO's drummer Dan Konopka. As a result, he has quickly become an in-demand session guitarist and multi-instrumentalist for artists all over the United States.

$ho-tyme is the grandson of the late Ronald Townson from Multi-Grammy award winning oldies group The Fifth Dimension, $ho-tyme focuses on writing and producing music that has its own unique sound that makes up Swipe District Music. Since childhood performing with the attention from others has brought out the best in the Los Angeles rapper/ songwriter. Destined for stardom while writing songs for other artists $ho-tyme has currently released Fame or Friends an EP which gives insight into the life challenges he's faced with or the journey of become a musical icon. Working noticeably harder than the competition he remains to fly under the mainstream radar but has the city of Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley ears buzzing with his unique sound.

sick balloons began back in 2004 as a modest attempt at learning to play guitar-based music via bedroom, and also as a means of alternate expression from other musical meanderings. a lot of the earlier demos were made simply with sister's bass, sampler and 8track (digital, yes). various recordings were passed out amongst friends during this time. in early 2009 after a few years of musical dormancy new recordings began to develop, resulting in sharpened and matured standing amongst previous output. 2011 saw the release of the first official tape/digital release, "farewell to the swagger kids." shortly after that, begat live procurement fixturing, and the first incarnation of the band. 2013, balloons were seen with 'prague over brooklyn,' a revisit to imperfections and home-fi. 2014 found more experimentation and home recordings with a new record, 'north citrus helvetica.' after a few shifts and rearrangements, the current roster is aligned with the bravado of punk-informed anthems alongside pop songwriting and a ton of FUZZ. 'telescopes (on) parade,' our fourth, albeit first full fledged, full band record, is in progress, helmed by our good friend, Dave Matthies. thanks for being one of our [sic] friends.
