Anton Smirnov
Anton Smirnov began his violin studies in Ukraine where he won and received awards from a number of national and regional competitions, and was regularly featured as a soloist with Kherson National University Symphony Orchestra and Gileya Chamber Orchestra.
Anton earned his bachelor's degree at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he was awarded Hans Schneider excellence in music scholarship. During his studies at Southeastern Anton won auditions in Baton Rouge Symphony, Mobile Symphony Orchestra, Gulf Coast Symphony, and Acadiana Symphony, and performed in the concerts featuring Itzhak Perlman, Joshua Bell, Midori Goto, Ilya Kaler, Nadja Salerno, Chris Botti, Evelyn Glennie, Olga Kern and others. In 2010 Anton began his graduate studies in Pittsburgh, PA at Mary Pappert School of Music, Duquesne University, where he worked on his Master's degree and served as a concertmaster under the direction of maestro Sidney Harth. He continued performing as a contract musician in a number of professional orchestras, including Westmoreland Symphony, Wheeling Symphony, Washington Symphony Orchestra, Johnstown Symphony and Ripieno Chamber Orchestra, where he was appointed as acting concertmaster. In 2013 Anton was offered a teaching position at Duquesne University City Music Center. More recently Anton moved to Denver, Colorado to pursue his passion for composing, and music production.
