D.on Darox & The Melody Joy Bakers
The Melody Joy Bakers are a 7 piece brain child of the nomadic, multi instrumentalist, and growling front man D.on Darox. The band is based out of Southern California, and their sound combines roots, swampy jazz, and dirty, gritty, blues.
D.on Darox & The Melody Joy Bakers have a history of performing on stages and streets, across the United States has won over the hearts of broad audiences ranging from the youth, the aged and those lost and inebriated somewhere in between. Their high energy shows, along with their signature sound has been called everything from Swamp Jazz to dirty Blues. The band's early days include stomping grounds such as Harvelle's (Santa Monica and Long Beach), the Ink 'n Iron Festival on the Queen Mary,(Long Beach) New Noise Festival (Santa Barbara), Bombay's, "The Sewer", (both Ventura) The Lobero Theater (Santa Barbara), Cinema Bar (Culver City), Old Town Pub (Pasadena), Sassafras Saloon (Hollywood) and other various reputable (...and disreputable) venues through out Southern California.

Notable Mentions: D.on Darox & The Melody Joy Bakers has shared stages with Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Dustbowl Revival, and Black Joe Lewis and has a history of opening for other great acts such as Reverend Horton Heat, Merle Haggard, The Legendary Shack Shakers, and The God Damn Gallows just to name a few. We've played Austin's SxSW, and played in New Orleans during French Quarter Fest. They have been featured performers at the California Jazz and Wine Fest and the Ink N Iron festival (Nashville, TN and Long Beach, CA).
