From Symphonic to Jazz, World to Pop/Rock, Film Score to Salsa, the versatility and quality of Alvaro as Guitarist, Composer, Songwriter, Musical Director, Producer, Arranger, Orchestrator and Conductor has allowed him to work with worldwide artists of all kind of sonorities: Simon Bolivar Orchestra, Natalia Lafourcade, Luis Enrique, Anat Cohen, Alondra de la Parra, Aldemaro Romero, Luis Perdomo, Servando Primera, “Pacho” Flores, Aleks Syntek, Guaco, Soledad Bravo, Ximena Sariñana, María Teresa Chacín, Aquiles Machado, Caramelos de Cianuro, Yordano, Luisito Quintero, Ilan Chester, La vida bohéme, Ralph Irizarry, “Pollo” Brito and Viniloversus, to name a few. He worked as a Producer, Arranger and Conductor in the record "Repeat after me" of Los Amigos Invisibles, nominated at The 58th Grammy Awards as "Best Latin Rock / Alternative Album".
With his bands Movida Acústica Urbana, Kapicúa (traditional), Cabijazz (salsa/jazz) and Filarmónica Desenredada (symphonic/pop), he has produced nine albums that have reached gold record and excellent national and international reviews, performing his music across five continents. He has also been awarded for the original music of dozens of plays, short films, documentaries and feature films.
The wide variety of his output and of his different roles as a musician is rooted on a truly insatiable curiosity for Art that started at an early age, and on a reliable discipline and work routine. His education has been particularly comprehensive in Humanities and Sciences, receiving much recognition for his academic excellence in such prestigious institutions as the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied the Bachelor in Classical Guitar and Composition; the School of Music Pedro Nolasco Colon, where he obtained the degree of Master of Performance in Classical Guitar; and the Central University of Venezuela, where he received the degree of Bachelor in Computer Science, developing a Computer-Assisted Instruction Software for Music Learning as his graduation thesis project. From the same University he recently obtained a Diploma in Orchestral Conducting.
