SPiN
Comparisons to iconic bands like Queen, The Cars, and Muse can be hard to live up to, but Philly-based SPiN continually earns such great accolades with each release. Grammy-nominated producer/engineer Luke Tozour (P!nk, Katy Perry, Mika) noted the band’s “classic epic songwriting with a modern pop twist!” and AntiMusic.com raved the “hard-driving power chords and edgy overtones layering over thoughtful, subtle melodic progressions.” Vintage Guitar Magazine says SPiN finds “…a comfortable space between emo and the grittier side of power pop…some very radio-friendly material.” TV and film like SPiN, too.
SPiN’s last EP “Stalked” included the single "Happy Together" which reached #1 on the iTunes indie rock charts, was featured in full on the CBS Show "Stalker." Other tracks have received commercial airplay (“Home” reached #7 on FMQB and the “BELiEVE” album charted Top 5 at CMJ college stations) and have appeared on networks such as NBC, MTV, VH1, Spike TV, Bravo, History Channel, IFC, MuchMusic, and Travel Channel. “Hurt By You” was featured on G4’s “Attack of the Show.” Their powerpop version of “Silent Night” was used in commercials for the movie “Scott Pilgrim Vs the World.” Music videos for “Playing Dead” and “Hearts in Flames” earned rotation in the U.S. on FUSE TV and in Canada on AUX TV.
In addition to headline gigs, SPiN has provided support for Halestorm, Fuel, Hinder, SafetySuit, Red, Fat Joe, RA, Charm City Devils and more in 600+ shows across 25 states.
When not touring, the band continues to write, record, and independently release music from its Dead Handsome Studio, inside a 150-year old funeral home.
