Andrew Williams
In early 2000 Andrew began to take his musicianship and engineering skills to the next level. Andrew enrolled at the "Los Angeles Recording School". After six months of schooling, a few months till graduation and eager to begin his career in an actual studio, Andrew took an internship at the "Mix Room" in Burbank, Ca owned and operated by engineer/producer Ben Grosse. After just one night of his internship he was offered a full time job as a runner for the studio. Andrew soon graduated and began to work full time at the "Mix Room", working with such artists as Kid Rock, Sevendust, 30 seconds to Mars, The Crystal Method, and Ben Folds. Andrew is even uncredited as one of the "redneck party voices" on Kid Rock's album "Cocky" at the end of the song "What I learned on the road" . While working at the Mix Room, Andrew worked in the studio A, studio B, and studio C recording and mixing several personal projects as much as the studios schedule would allow.
With the knowledge of working at the Mix Room for 2 years and schooling under his belt, Andrew decided it was time to move on and plant his own roots in the recording industry. It was at this time Andrew built his first recording studio "3am Studios" in the back of his father's print shop/warehouse in Chatsworth, Ca. It was here Andrew began to work at his father's print shop running a die cutter from the 1950's, a German made "heidelberg" during the day and recording locals bands and artists at night. It was then that Andrew began to take an interest in learning Audio for post production. Andrew attended Video Symphony in Burbank, Ca and received his Expert Pro Tools certification in both music and Post Production.
One notable project that lead to a new direction in Andrew's career was a podcast called "Grunt Talk" created by Tim Schultz. The podcast was comprised of assistant editors, pa's, digitizers, dubbers, engineers, aspiring directors and producers, essentially the grunts of the industry. It was during the recording of these podcasts Andrew would meet a mutual friend and future business partner Aaron Davies. Aaron being the "go getter" he is soon brought audio post production work to the table along with the building of a new mixing studio in Hollywood, Ca for a company called Go Edit, Inc to work on a show called "Bridezillas". It was here Andrew mixed for over 2 years, Andrew mixed 3 seasons of Bridezillas along with a barrage of others shows for Discovery channel, History channel, Comedy Central, Direct TV, and more.
After thoroughly getting his feet wet mixing for broadcast television, Andrew decided he would like to start mixing feature film. It was at this time Andrew started to work for TriCoast Studios in Santa Monica, Ca an independent film production and international distribution company. Within one year of mixing at TriCoast the company decided to move into a larger facility in Culver City, Ca. The new facility lacked a proper studio for Andrew to work from. It was then Andrew partnered with TriCoast to build by his own hand a 1200 square foot mix stage called "TriCoast Audio". TriCoast Audio features Pro Tools HD Native, 5.1 surround sound with JBL monitoring as well a High Definition Marantz projector with a 9 foot perforated Stewart Screen for playback. Since building the studio in 2009 Tri-Coast audio has been a part in a number of feature films including “The Dead” (2011), A Haunting at Silver Falls (2012), Smitty (2012), “Treasure of the black Jaguar” (2012), “5 Souls” (2013), “The Sacred” (2013), “Windwalkers” (2014), “Almost Sharkproof” (2014), and“10 Days in a Madhouse (2015). Andrew has also teamed up with Chainsaw Edit in Hollywood, Ca, one of the largest Television Post houses in the country. Andrew has headed up the audio dept since 2013 and worked on such projects as “Rich Kids of Beverly Hills” - E Entertainment, “Kodiak” for the Discovery channel, “Skin Wars” for GSN, “The Walking Dead” - Webisodes, Oscars, MTV’s “Miley Cyrus - Unplugged”, and “Gigi Does It” for IFC channel
