John Randall
PIANIST/SINGER/MUSICAL DIRECTOR
John has been pianist and musical director for Scott Mauro Entertainment over the last five years and has played at numerous prestigious star-studded galas including the annual Princess Grace Awards, in New York and Los Angeles.
As a pianist and singer LA Weekly singled him out in their Best of LA Weekly 2011 as the “Broadway-tastic” John Randall for his two year Saturday night performances at “The Other Side” in Silverlake.
Besides having performed in venues in New York City, Sante Fe, NM and Paris, France, John is regularly hired to play music from the American Songbook at private parties in Hollywood celebrity homes.
On television as a pianist he has appeared on episodes of “Weird Loners”, “House MD”, “NCIS” and the feature film remake “Yours, Mine and Ours”.
As a pianist, conductor and musical director in concert and nightclub, John has had the opportunity to work with Broadway performers Michelle Lee, Patrick Cassidy, Rachel York, Bernadette Peters, and Liz Callaway as well as for “American Idol” Top Ten finalists Justin Guarini, Kimberly Locke and Melinda Doolittle including some performances with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
New York Broadway theatre credits include playing in the orchestras for “Beauty and the Beast” and “Annie”(revival/Nell Carter).
Off-Broadway and on tour he served as pianist and musical director for “Forbidden Broadway”. Also Off-Broadway as an actor, singer and pianist he understudied and performed the leading role of Gideon in the musical “The Last Session” at the 47th St. Theatre.
National Tour credits as a conductor/pianist or keyboard vocalist include Barry Manilows’ “Copacabana”, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” (Patrick Cassidy/Deborah Gibson), “Jersey Boys” “Jesus Christ Superstar” (Ted Neely/Carl Anderson), “The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas” (Ann-Margret) and “Mamma Mia”.
Regional theatre credits include the Globe Theatre, San Diego, Pasadena Playhouse, The Laguna Playhouse, Alabama Shakespeare Festival and Coronet Theatre, LA.
In Los Angeles, John is also a sought out vocal coach and audition pianist for top New York casting agencies including the Broadway shows Book of Mormon, and Mamma Mia to name a few.
Born in Toronto, Canada, he studied through the Royal Conservatory of Music, Banff School of Fine Arts, Alberta and holds a Bachelor Degree in Music from Berklee College of Music, Boston.
