Beca
Dark disco diva Beca's sensual and emotive pop is beamed from internal and external odysseys. The NYC to LA transplant's critically acclaimed catalog encompasses '80s and '90s pop and R&B, 70's dance floor bounce, intimate lyrics, and intrepid electronic music textures.
Her forthcoming EP, Precious Gold, produced by Blake Robin of Luxxury, is a masterstroke shimmering with enlightenment and sparkly, retro futuristic dance-pop. It reflects a time of transition and hope. Standouts on the seven-song EP include the slow-burn anthemic title track which speaks of a newfound strength, the seductively sentimental "Future Foreigner," and the pastel pop colorings on "Captivity."
Since 2012, Beca has released two EPs via the UK label This Is Music Ltd., one full-length album, and worked with such notable names as producer Morgan Wiley of Midnight Magic, and remixers Ashley Beedle, Klic, Night Drive, and Madeaux. She's garnered praise from such tastemaking outlets as Pure Volume, Filter Magazine, Stereogum, and Lucky Magazine, among others. Beca has also accrued radio spins from over 50 stations nationally. Live performance highlights include CMJ, SXSW, Miami Fashion Week, Sundance Film Festival, POP Montreal, and NXNE.
