Louise Fraser
You may have already heard Louise Fraser on KCRW, or on film soundtracks alongside artists such as Moby, Portishead and Aphex Twin. Her music has also been featured on TV shows on the CW, NBC, Lifetime, MTV, and a few independent movies (Surfing Thru, Sharkwater, Revolution). A prolific artist, Louise has been touring, recording and collaborating since the age of 16. From her roots in a successful London teen rock band and a 27 piece jazz ensemble, she has collaborated with producers like Don Smith (Rolling Stones, U2, Tom Petty, Ry Cooder, etc) and Jeff Rona (Traffic, Black Hawk Down, White Squall, etc). Clasically trained since the age of 11, Louise has released two solo CD’s. Her latest, Thaw, presents a dynamic range of emotions, lush harmonies, and an assortment of orchestration styles from acoustic to electronic to good old fashioned rock and roll. It features artists like Dave Immerglick (Counting Crows) and Ron Blair (Tom Petty's Heartbreakers). Billboard Magazine called it “an impressive feat… Exceptional quality and songwriting craftsmanship”. Her unique vocal style has been compared to artists ranging from Sarah McLachlan and Enya to Imogen Heap and Liz Fraser (Cocteau Twins). Originally from London, Louise is currently living and recording in Los Angeles.
