In 1964 at the age of three I began drumming and at age 5 my father and the local music store owner/band conductor (Harry Rempe) recruited four other musicians with the oldest being eight. The band was named “Duane and The Redcoats” and we stayed together for seven yrs. touring and opening for major acts such as: The Turtles, Paul Revere and the Raiders, 5 Americans, Iron Butterfly, Herman Hermits and more…we won talent contests, on radio and tv and we were in the November 2, 1968 issue of Billboard Magazine hailed as the youngest rock and roll group to date. Disbanding in 1973 - I focused on school while continuing to play in a variety of local bands in and around my home town of Fort Madison, Ia… after a couple years of college I set out on tour again with a Texas based show band. I left Texas and moved to Denver, Co. and toured with bands out of there til 1983 when I relocated to Los Angeles where. Shortly after arriving in LA I hooked up with an R&B band and the lead singer was a back up singer for Marvin Gaye and I eventually did some playing with Marvin. I was fortunate to play with a lot of great players for yrs to come and in 1992 I hooked with Adrian Peritore guitarist/band member of The Motels “Only the Lonely” and we rolled as a writing team for many artist playing with members from billy Idol, Rod Stewart, Cher, etc. In 2003 I toured with the “Pat Ramsey band” out of Biloxi, Mississippi for two years doing the east coast, southern routes. Pat played harmonica on Johnny Winters “White Hot and Blue” album. In April 2009 I met Tony Valentino/guitarist and founder of The Standells “Dirty Water” and we started The Icon Experience a band consisting of members of The Troggs, Quick Silver Messenger Service, Electric Prunes/Smashing Pumpkins, We Five, jay Ferguson and Merrilee Rush playing fairs, car events, etc. The keyboardist in that band (Michael W. Lewis) was co-owner of SNAILWORX S CARGO RECORDS and they signed me in Sept of 2009 with a band I was also doing called Mad Love, later I submitted some recordings of The Pat Ramsey Band Live and they signed that as well and it later was put up for a Grammy Nomination ( Classic Blues Category) … The label had me sing on an album I helped co-write as well and that was submitted for a Grammy Nomination (Dance Category). I currently am playing with IKE WILLIS formerly of Frank Zappa - MICKI FREE of Shalamar/Prince - The Rick Hunter Band - “One From the Road” a Tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd and session work. Grammy CD’s (PAT RAMSEY--Live in Key West) (ORANGO TANGO --Tainted Love) Amazon, Itunes, Limewire, Rhapsody, EmusicCargo, etc. Snailworx S Cargo Productions.com Endorsed by: SOULTONE CYMBALS/DW DRUMS /Rich Drumsticks
