One Note Stand is a competitive co-ed group founded in 2009. Since its founding, ONS has become one of the most accomplished a cappella groups in Texas and competitive on a national scale. One Note Stand is a completely self-funded group with a mission to spread their own stories, struggles, and triumphs simply with the sounds of their own voices. They believe every story should be told and always strive to take their audience on an Emotional Journey™ with their music. The group performs throughout Texas at holiday parties, corporate events, events happening around UT campus, and even large-scale events such as the National Robotics Competition Finals in front of 20,000 people at Minute Maid Park! ONS leads and organizes the annual UT Acapalooza, a benefit concert that raises money for various causes such as interpersonal violence prevention and hurricane relief. The group has placed 1st at ICCA Quarterfinals, 2nd at ICCA Semifinals in Phoenix, competed in BOSS twice, and earned Best Choreography for their entire set in ICCA 2018. As a DJ, Nixx been on the scene since 2008, but she grew up around music her entire life, especially in dance or singing. At age 10, her mother taught her how to use turntables on their old Technics. Nixx always gives the crowd what they want, but in a style all her own…she has been known as the DJ to always keep you guessing; She’ll run from Old School to Disco to Hip Hop to Top 40 to Rock to House and always find a way to make sense with it, “Growing up, I was always listening to motown, blues, R&B, funk, disco, soul, hip hop, rock, and everything in between.

The David Thacker Trio has its roots firmly in the pocket - funk and blues are home base for this band. That said they draw inspiration from everything from old school country to jazz.
