MKZ began electronic musical production on the Korg Electribe EMX and ESX in 2008 in his home town of Dallas Texas, and throughout highschool MKZ began learning to DJ with a fellow classmate. By 2009 he was releasing his first mixes and production previews on his soundcloud page. He located to Austin, TX to attend school and though studies restricted his time in the studio, he began DJing with production companies such as Real Music Events, Oh Bleep!, Beat Binge and Disco Donnie. MKZ has played at venues such as Kingdom Austin, Republic Live, Stubbs, Austin Music Hall, The Marc and The Nook and has performed opening sets and shared the stage with DJ/producers such as: Yellow Claw, Sandro Silva, Oliver Twizt, DJ Andrew Parsons, Darude, DJ SNAKE, Caspa, Trolley Snatcha, Subscape, Delta Heavy, Sub Focus, Destructo, Alex Metric, Protohype, Caked Up, Mija, Candyland, 12th Planet, Bro Safari and Crizzly. Hailing from the South, Dank $inatra, born Michael Styron, seamlessly blends real life experience and neo-surrealism into a hard-edged, psychedelic sound unique to Hip-Hop. Catching the attention of several industry taste makers for his punk rock ethos and love for psychedelics, Dank (and his team, the #Kushlords) have opened for several high profile artists, including a show stopping performance with Waka Flocka Flame. While born in North Carolina, Dank's family would soon relocate to Atlanta, Georgia. Arriving in the midst of the Crunk scene, Dank soon fell in love with the sounds of the city, citing many Atlanta artists as influences. But just as Dank was beginning to feel comfortable in his new city, he would have to relocate once more, this time to Lima, Peru. It was during this time that Dank began experimenting with his own sounds, joining the hardcore punk act, Wednesday Addams, as well as crafting his own Hip-hop tracks under the moniker, Alex Black. They would not return to the States for 6 years. Upon returning to the States, Dank spent a few more years in North Carolina, before making the journey to Austin, TX to attend film school. However, when things didn't quite pan out the way he expected, he soon dropped out. With nowhere else to go but up, Dank began to key-in on his music career, joining the Austin collective, G.O.D. (Gift of Diversity). While with G.O.D, Dank began to develop a following of his own while beginning to craft the groundwork for his current, unique sound. The group would soon disband. However, these events would prove fortunate for Dank, as it sparked a fire under the young MC, pushing him to bigger and better things. Since then, Dank $inatra, has opened for many major artists, including a stand-out performance with Waka Flocka Flame. He has also performed side by side with many Texas legends such as, Mike Jones, Z-Ro and Lil Flip. Additionally, he has collaborated and been featured on songs with several major acts, such as the aforementioned, Lil Flip, as well as underground favorite, Chris Travi$. He's released three music videos, two EP's and two full-length mixtapes over this period of time, with the latest being 2015's, "Kushlord.Loudgod.EP".
