Before Nakia was a Top 8 Semifinalist on CeeLo Green’s team during the first season of 'The Voice' on NBC, he was fronting Nakia and the Blues Grifters. In fact, it was his full-throated, soulful performance on a YouTube video of the band that led to The Voice producer Mark Burnett recruiting him for the hit TV show in 2011. Nakia moved from Chicago to Austin in 2002. After a brief stint in the Small Stars, a tongue-in-cheek lounge act fronted by Fastball’s Miles Zuniga, he formed Nakia & His Southern Cousins, got booked to perform at the 2008 Austin City Limits Festival, and wound up singing with Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings. Alejandro Escovedo heard him at a Rolling Stones tribute, which led to him singing backing vocals on Escovedo’s Street Songs of Love album, and to a second recommendation — this time by producer Tony Visconti — for Nakia to front his own Blues band. So he formed the Blues Grifters with guitarist and producer Mac McNabb (Patty Griffin, Michael Fracasso), bass player Chris Johnson (Roky Erickson, McLemore Avenue), and drummer Kevin Lance (Carolyn Wonderland, Gnappy). The band took a four year hiatus while Nakia focused on a solo career, but reformed when Nakia was asked to appear on the upcoming ALL ATX album, "Low Down Violet Crown: Austin Rocks the Blues.” “They asked us to cut “Whipping Post,”” said Nakia, “but we told them we needed to grind that tune up and smoke it first.” The result is a complete reimagining of The Allman Brothers classic. Transforming it from an 11/8 prog-rocking dirge into gritty funky blues in 4/4 that culminates into a double time frenzy featuring new Blues Grifters members Jan Flemming (Ulrich Ellison, The Gritones) on Hammond B3 and piano, and saxophonist, Vinnie Limon (Rotel & The Hot Tomatoes, Tortilla Factory). The band recently completed a seven week residency at Antone’s where they were joined by many special guests including Gary Clark Jr. and can be found every Wednesday at C-Boy’s Heart & Soul. They are planning to release a series of 5 singles on 7” vinyl in 2017 leading up to a full-length album.

Based in Austin, Texas, BettySoo is a songwriter's songwriter and a singer's singer. Her shows are entertaining - not just because of her musicianship but because she's funny as hell. Sure, she's won her share of songwriting awards, but it's her live shows that have won her a loyal audience. You might find her performing with a band, solo, or as a sideman (playing keys, guitar, accordion, or singing harmony) with Charlie Faye & The Fayettes, Bonnie Whitmore, Michael Fracasso, Jaimee Harris, among others. Her own musical style ranges from folk to rock, from jazz to pop.

Edit Tje Austin is an Austin-based R&B singer-songwriter. Tje’s personal brand of soul derives from various influences that include John Legend and Lenny Kravitz. Tje was also contestant during the first run of the North American adaptation of The Voice.

Sedona Skies is an indie folk due based in Austin, TX. Arizona Natives Adara Ostdiek and Carissa Chiu met one another in Austin at a local Open Mic. Bonding over their desert roots the two singer-songwriters began playing music together as an acoustic duo as well as a a 5-piece. Their sound has a unique blend of powerful harmonies with dynamic lead guitar, paired with upbeat catchy original music and covers. Some of their influences include Fleetwood Mac, Florence and the Machine and Amy Winehouse. With Adara's soulful lead vocals and Carissa's dynamic fingerstyle playing, their music style touches multiple genres from indie folk to blues rock delivered with a retro style. In 2017 the band recorded their first EP and celebrated the release with a headlining spot at Stubb's indoors. After the release the band received local and national acclaim and have continued to play and offer support for local and national bands at venues such as Stubb's, Hotel Vegas and Cheer up Charlie's to name a few. They also made their SXSW debut in 2018 as part of a local showcase held on 6th street. Currently the band has been recording their new EP with producer Ben Gallaway that will be released in Summer 2018.

Shadow of Whales made their debut appearance at the Austin Convention Center in front of thousands of people for DellWorld; this act brought them to appear on TV only weeks later on KTBC – FOX 7 and garner praise from people like the Indie Band Guru with statements such as, “Shadow Of Whales has the tunes and the drive to make a big impact on the strong local Austin scene and beyond” Less than a year later, SoW released their debut self-titled EP and saw an explosion of support from both their quickly growing fan base and the web. “[Shadow of Whales has] dropped one of the sassiest and catchiest records in recent memory” claims Under The Gun Review. The debut EP charted on CMJ’s Top 200 and has seen regular rotation at Starbucks Coffee across the United States and Canada. Shadow of Whales have shared the stage with names such as Courage My Love, Mayday Parade, Circa Survive, Sweet Ascent and Jonny Craig and performed at several festivals such as the Vans Warped Tour, (San Antonio) RedGorilla Music Festival, Heart of Texas Rockfest, South By So What?! Festival, and the “Rather Be Dead Than Cool” Tour (Texas dates) with Forever Came Calling.
