“One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” Phillip Solomon Stewart loves Bob Marley, and with family roots from St. Ann and Kingston Jamaica, Phillip first fell in love with music at age three while living with his grandma in Lime Hall of St. Ann Jamaica. Phillip Solomon Stewart was born in Miami, Florida on October 2 and was nicknamed King at birth. While growing up, King listened to multiple genres of music, which led to his appreciation of music. King began to demonstrate his love for music when he learned to play the saxophone at age eleven and later self-taught himself to play other instruments including the oboe, which led to his music scholarship to college. While in high school, among several school organizations, Phillip was also active in the band playing the alto and tenor saxophones, the oboe, and serving as Drum Major. He graduated from Miami Norland Senior High School on June 13, 2001 and matriculated to Florida A&M University where he continued to be an active student participating in several organizations. To highlight a few, he served as Mr. College of Education, a FAMU STRIKER, and Assistant Head Drum Major of the world famous FAMU Marching 100 Band. Phillip graduated from FAMU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education on December 16, 2005 and a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership on August 3, 2007. He was an elementary school teacher for several years, teaching 3rd, 4th and 5th grade and continues to serve in education as a program specialist for the TCC Educational Talent Search Program. KINGP ENTERTAINMENT is his company, which he serves as a music producer, song writer, recording artist and the leader of the PALACE BAND. He is a man of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., a family man with two sons; Phillip Solomon Stewart says, “Live the life you love. Love the life you live.” - Bob Marley
