The Northern Lights, a mixed a cappella ensemble of 18 people, is an on-campus organization at Northern Michigan University. Established in 2010, the group has been growing in size, talent, and popularity both at the university and in the Marquette community. The Northern Lights are completely student-run and work towards multiple performances a semester. Sticking generally to popular music, the Northern Lights loves to perform anything from top hits on today's radio stations to classic ballads to Disney favorites. Group members have been arranging songs for the group, allowing the Northern Lights to sing more original pieces. For the past two years, the Northern Lights have competed at the International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) and have absolutely loved performing competitively, meeting and watching other a Cappella groups, and bonding as a family. With an intense passion for singing and making music, the Northern Lights will provide every audience with an entertaining experience!
