Katie McMinn has had one common theme in her life, music. She sat down at a piano at the age of seven and to this day, one will be hard pressed to find her sitting anywhere else. Katie’s drive for perfection with the piano drove her down the path of creating her own music. Katie’s passion for song writing has compelled her to write over 100 songs. Her music is soulful and fun she has been compared to such artists has Patty Griffin, Katy Perry, Adele and Carrie Underwood.

In 2008 she recorded her single “Sleep Through It” which became the song for Utah’s Dating Violence Awareness campaign. In 2011 she won second place in the Jukebox Jams. At the end of that same year, Katie launched her first music video for her single “Fly” which Rachael Alvine with the Unlimited Indie Music News and Review says, “Katie McMinn’s single, “Fly” has great sound quality and music production value and I really love the fast-frame segments of the music video. The song is well-crafted and will ring through to certain market segments of female music fans. I really enjoy the use of the jimbe, trumpet and background vocals.”

Katie has played all over Utah from places like the Depot and Sandy Amphitheater to coffee shops and outdoor festivals. She also played at the Denver Art Festival.

Katie is currently working on her next album. Katie says, “My hope is this new album will showcase my vocal skills and to tell a great story.”
