Soon after opening a new branch in Nashville, Mid South Music Records and Entertainment has signed this promising Artist to a record and promotions deal.

Black, a native of Hickman, KY has always been a country boy and farming since he was old enough to reach the pedals of the tractor on his parents’ farm. Country music influenced him at an early age and at age 18, Jay taught himself to play guitar and while honing that talent, began writing songs related to the world and life around him. “When life gets me down or there is something I need to express, it goes into my head and out on a piece of paper” replied Jay when asked what motivates him in his music career. “I will try to let this guitar and my vocal abilities take me as far as it wants to.”
A family man, Jay Black is a loving husband and he and wife Erika are proud parents to three daughters. While pursuing his career in the country music world, Jay spends his days proudly following the Black family tradition of working the family farm, which dates back to the early 1900s in rural Kentucky.

Jay Black, while developing an impressive following in the country music industry, has opened shows for country superstars John Michael Montgomery, Montgomery Gentry as well as other Artists. In Kentucky, the name Jay Black has become synonymous with country music.

TJ Hurst, President/CEO of Mid South Music Records and Entertainment, remarked that “ As soon as I heard Jay, I was captivated and knew he belonged with us at Mid South.”

While plans are underway for the new CD, Jay will be entering the studio soon to record a new single which will be released in early fall on Mid South Music Records. “We have major plans for Jay,” says Hurst, “which will begin with the single, soon followed by a music video. Our team looks forward to working with Jay on the production and release of the new project as well as promotion.”
