My name is Gensen Musashi Rabacal. I'm totally blind, and I'm from the island of Oahu. As you can imagine, being blind comes with its many many challenges, but it also comes with its many many blessings. Being blind has taught me to see people not by how they physically appear, but rather how they express themselves through the heart. I am proud to say that I befriend people of all different kinds!

I was blind from six months of age, due to a condition called Retinoblastoma. It's an eye cancer that attacks the eyes, and if not treated or taken care of right away, could spread throughout the rest of the body and eventually hit the brain. I had to fly to San Francisco with my family to surgically remove my eyes. But I'm grateful that I am cancer free.

I started playing ukulele at the age of four, thanks to my pre-school teacher and eventually my middle school teacher. I started singing at the age of eight in my elementary school choir, and eventually took voice lessons in high school and college. I currently teach music at the Chuck James Music School, and I work part time teaching music at Momilani Elementary School in Pearl City, Hawaii.

Music has always been a blessing to me, and I'm looking forward to sharing my music with others. Music is a great way for me to release the stresses of life, going through the challenges of going to school and finding a job. I play originals, classic oldies, Hawaiian, pop, and the occasional country.
