He is best known for his work with the revered Midwestern rock band Backyard Tire Fire who released a string of acclaimed albums between 2002-2010. BTF toured with Govt Mule, Los Lobos, Cracker, Rev Horton Heat, North Mississippi Allstars, and opened shows for ZZ Top, Buddy Guy, and James McMurtry. The band played the Lynyrd Skynyrd Cruise, was twice featured on the PBS program Sun Studio Sessions, performed on the nationally syndicated Mountain Stage and Acoustic Cafe radio shows and garnered heavy AAA and Sirius/XM airplay including regular rotation on the legendary WXRT-Chicago. Anderson launched his solo career with his 2014 Royal Potato Family release, Lies & Wishes, produced by Los Lobos' Steve Berlin. He's opened for legends like Leon Russell, Leo Kottke, Blind Boys of Alabama and Los Lobos as well as the The Flatlanders, Alejandro Escovedo and Carolina Chocolate Drops. He tours regularly and calls Bloomington, IL home in the summer and the shores of the Gulf of Mexico in lower Alabama during the winter.
