Singer, songwriter, and dancer Danielle Lyndsay, a D.C. native is a musical prodigy bred from birth. Her father, a popular District of Columbia vocalist taught her at an early age the importance of stage presence and owning the spotlight by commanding the audience’s attention with the drop of the first beat until the last vocal is sung. Her fiery approach to song structure and raw movement through her extensive dance training is possessive in nature, making her a musical force to be reckoned with.
Danielle’s musical journey would start with her first love, dance, which has fueled her throughout her years as an artist. At age four she began formal dance training and throughout her years developed a talent of self- expression through movement. Danielle went on to pursue dance in college where she minored in Performing Arts with a Concentration in Dance at Frostburg State University. It was at FSU where she would formally transition from student to teacher upon assuming the role of a student choreographer of the FSU Dance Company, while also becoming one of the founding members of the FSU Hip-Hop Team, “Epitome.”
With a growing desire to follow her dreams, Danielle moved to New York to dance fulltime which required she drop everything, including her education to train extensively under top instructors in the Broadway Dance Center Internship Program. Under this training, she would present her original choreographed pieces at multiple showcases, while resurrecting her love of teaching choreography. Danielle's original pieces, both as a student and choreographer, have won various entertainment and choreography awards at both the regional and national levels.
Performing and entertaining are at the epicenter of who Danielle is as much as the stage is the epicenter of her comfort zone. Having learned how to express herself through movement, Danielle channeled
her ferocious energy into songwriting and singing to provide a trinity of musical artistry. In 2012, she released her debut EP "the genesis EP" which included her hit single "Such A Lady". The single’s video garnered over 90K views on YouTube as viewers connected to Danielle’s tough talking, feminist lyrics and urban-
pop influenced beats. Additional released tracks including "X-tacy", "Rapture of Your Sin", "Beautiful Disaster", and "Deadline" also gave her fans, or “Wings” as she refers to them, a further taste of her no- nonsense approach to demanding power and respect while maintaining her sex appeal and femininity.
Since the release of “the genesis EP”, Danielle has clocked numerous performances including a solo performance with Slip-N-Slide Record’s artist, Sebastian Mikael which allowed her to prove her musical chops of being able to hold her own amongst the “big boys”. Never one to rest on her laurels, Danielle looks at every performance and collaboration as a chance to better herself and her craft.
Danielle’s forthcoming EP, “From the Ashes”, which she plans to release in Spring 2016, will
explore her phoenix-like journey of rising from the ashes of personal and professional setbacks to becoming the woman and artist that she is today. The leading single, "Screaming Out Loud", released May
2015, provides fans with an even deeper look into the impassioned artist and woman that is Danielle Lyndsay.
