Growing up in the suburban confines of Detroit, Cooper is well aware of the influences of his automotive industrial hometown and its Motown, rock and hip-hop heroes. However, it was the combined early influences of Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Amos Lee, Mason Jennings and Donovan Frankenreiter that captured his attention and began his passion for songwriting. From there he has honed his own mature, rich organic vocal that is being compared to George Ezra and Sam Hunt. More importantly, he has a knack for creating unique melodies and lyrics that imply he is just getting started.

At an early age, athletics filled Cooper’s extracurricular activities. Primarily, it was an all-consuming hockey career which extended into college and ironically became the crossroads to a music career. At the same time there was a fixation on music that began as a middle-schooler and expanded into song-writing with a high school band which was getting some local attention. Increasingly drawn to his music, the time demands of college hockey became the stimulus for a series of introspective songs that would open up new career opportunities. One of those new breaks was a chance to develop his own collaborative song writing style in Nashville. The result was his first professional EP, For A Reason, that reached number 12 on the iTunes Singer Songwriter chart in the fall of 2014.

Today, Cooper is working on new music in Los Angeles that he is very excited to share. The experience of Nashville song writing and LA production is creating a new sound that allows Cooper to make his own unique contributions and deliver it in a style that is all his own.
